Protein Price Increase
Now there are a few economic conditions affecting this and here's a few that you can chew on for now. First is the huge demand of emerging countries that had not had a big demand for this product in the past such as, China, India, South American countries like Brazil, Russia, etc. These countries have exploding populations, which increases demand for whey in order to manufacture products like even baby formula.
Another big reason is transportation costs and that is an obvious increase as we've all felt the effects of this one.
The last one we will list is the increase in the fitness industry itself. Never before has the world seen such a demand for health products and unfortunately the raw suppliers are capitalizing on this demand as they feel they are finally making the returns they should be and it is more of a level playing field now since back in the day whey was selling for only a few dollars per pound and retailers and packagers where selling it for not much less than it's going for now, so they feel it's a more fair playing field, which mostly comes from dairy farmers that our raw whey suppliers have told us. On the other end of this reason, just as above when demand goes up and supply goes down, prices go up.
Now, this is all coming second hand from our suppliers so you can hold us to this, but from what we've seen in the economy and world markets, it seems bang on.
Hopefully, in the near future whey prices will soften and/or stabilize. In the meantime we will continue to try to offer all of you the most economical high quality resource for nutritional supplements in the country.
Changes and New Products
With
that said, a number of you may have experienced longer than expected
shipping times. This is due to the fact that we have increased our
product line to include name brand products, in fact we now have access
to over 4500+ brand name items for VERY competitive prices. This has
caused shortages of products due to increased demand and delays in
getting the product back in stock. We want you all to know we are
working diligently to rectify this issue so we can ship orders withing
latest 72 hours. We are beginning to get a good handle on our
logistics, but we still have some kinks to work though and we appreciate

Canada Post Strike
In the event of a Canada Post strike we will still ship orders using alternate shipping companies including UPS, Canpar, and Fedex. We will choose which company is best suited upon a per order basis.
Unfortunately, during this time, if the strike occurs, we will be unable to ship to Canada Post PO boxes.
Unionized postal workers have given 72 hours notice to the Canada Post
Corporation (CPC) and will be in a legal strike position as of Thursday,
June 2 at 11:59 p.m.
UPDATE: at this time Canada Post has chosen to strike for 24 hours in a different city each strike period. With that said, we will still be shipping with Canada Post until further notice of a nationwide strike taking place and at this time we will change delivery companies. .

To kick off our first official blog post, we have some interesting
news...True Supplements.com is now Canadian Protein.com! So, why the
name change you ask? Well, we have teamed up with a large company who
believes that having the word "Canadian" in the domain name is a very
important element of being a Canadian company and we couldn't agree
more. While
True Supplements.com will still link to Canadian Protein.com, feel free
to bookmark our new URL. We also want you all to know, it is the same
exact people and ownership, employees, etc. has not changed at, just our
website name.
We also are proud to be launching our brand new state of the art
website. This website is going to be able to offer our customers a much
more user friendly experience and an overall better experience with
shopping with us.
So, what comes with teaming up with this
company? We will be looking at significant less amount of stocking
issues, lead times, order times, etc. and company that will be able to
service it's customers second to none.
Moving forward, here are
some of the new things you can expect starting now...all products except
capsules will be packaged and heat sealed in black mylar heat sealed
bags with a zipper on it so they can be reused. These Mylar bags are a
much 'greener' and reduce pollution footprints much more, they take up
less space, are reusable for whatever use you feel fit, and much more
durable than poly bags.
