What is Micellar Casein?

Micellar Casein is a type of protein derived from milk. Micellar Casein which is the best type of casein available due to being naturally occurring is made up of 80% casein, and 20% whey. Micellar Casein is synthesized by way of ultra filtration from milk to create a natural, undenatured protein source very rich in milk peptides. These various milk peptides can help to boost the bodies’ immune system and enhance muscle growth. Casein proteins are most known for releasing their amino acids for a longer period of time than traditional whey. Micellar Casein is a very slow acting protein that releases its amino acids over a period of 6-7 hours. Micellar Casein is best consumed at a ratio of 1 rounded scoop of powder with 200-250ml (depending on desired consistency) of cold water, or milk. If taking for a meal replacement then 1 rounded scoop at any meal will suffice. You may mix your Casein with things such as raw oats, raw flaxseed, or oat bran to create a home made meal replacement. If consuming protein for nighttime recovery 1-2 scoops depending on body weight with 1-2 cups of milk will be best to allow maximum effectiveness in reducing muscle breakdown and enhancing growth.
